Measuring and programming cellular mechanobiology

How do cells sense mechanical force—and how does force shape what cells do?

Cells constantly generate, sense, and respond to mechanical forces. Our lab investigates these forces from the receptor to the cellular scale, connecting molecular mechanics to signaling and function.

We develop tools to measure and engineer cellular forces, with the goal of uncovering how mechanical cues shape cell behavior. Ultimately, we seek to use these cues to direct cellular function.
